common fashion trend of Horror movies

Believe it or not but horror and thriller movies follow a common fashion trend. yeah, really! I watch a lot of horror flicks and i notice all the horror movie protagonists or the characters like witches, the possessed, the ghosts or the kids wore mostly either a long maxi gown, night gowns or victorian era gowns.

These particular type of outfits do contribute to the whole idea of eerie look! Be it a peter pan collar dress, white maxi or victorian era gowns, they are quite common in these movies!well let me show you what i am talking about! Remember the movie The exorcism of emily Rose, hmm, what is emily wearing mostly in the movie? A night gown.

Nightmare in the elm street 2- the peter pan collar

horror movie common fashion

Nightmare in elm street 3

The conjuring- The witch on the cupboard, the hanging witch, the woman who was possessed by the demon to the kids, white solid night gown is quite a common in this movie!

The Possession

The Orphanage

A tale of two sisters

The haunting

The ring

what is it with these long gowns? i might have missed out many other movies, these looks were from some of my favourite horror flicks i could recall for now, although these maxi gown succeed getting in most of the horror flicks, some horror or slasher movies also are known for their stylish fashion for e.g scream, scream queens
