Indian sweet dumpling called “Gujiya” reminds all of us of the festival of colors, Holi !
It has so many other delicious variants present in the world. All of the dumplings usually have one thing in common-the basic idea of putting fillings inside thick/thin dough,made of flour. The shape varies,the taste varies,the ingredients varies,the way they are cooked varies but basically what remains the same is the Idea. While some of them have veg fillings others have minced meat.Flour used for Dough are either Rice flour,refined wheat flour or wheat Flour!
Gujiya has filling of either khoya which is made by heating milk in pan till its thickened or Fried semolina . The outer dough is made with refined flour and then given a shape of either half moon or round shape.
